The Darker Side of OZ

Every college junkie knows the old myth: Apparently if you start watching The Wizard of Oz and then once the MGM lion makes his final roar you begin blasting Pink Floyd's "Dark Side Of The Moon," the two will magically seem as if they were synchronized together. Almost as if the album were an alternate score for the actual movie itself. Well first of all, it's kind of a sad score if it only happens to last about 40 minutes into the movie. But there are some pretty cool coincidences. For example, when the movie moves from black & white into color is when the cash registers in "Money" start keying in, to perfectly suit the budget of the film skyrocketing. Or theres another great moment when the screaming and wailing perfectly coincides with the winding tornados. It's a pretty neat effect, but only if you get the timing perfectly correct. If this is a problem you have, then you should probably just look into buying The Dark Side of OZ DVD. It's a worthwhile purchase if you want to freak out your friends and see the movie that could have been, wondering just how many drugs the ol' Floyd boys were on. Then you can wonder, was it a coincidence or a consiracy? The world may never know, but at least you won't waste your money grabbing the DVD version with most of the work done for you!
